Christmas is time for celebrations, family meetings and big meals. Usually those kind of events take place at grandma’s so a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates and problem solve for us. But what if you have to organise Christmas dinner at your own home? Don’t even worry, today we bring you many ideas for a cheap styling.
First of all, the tablecloth. We don’t have a “special occasions” tablecloth neither one for more than 20 people… So a paper tablecloth can be the solution. We can decorate it with markers drawing Christmas decorations and everyone will be surprised. Or, if you already have a big enough tablecloth for all your family you can add some paper table runners using wrapping paper (it has the perfect width).

Next thing will be napkins. Probably you won’t have enough cloth napkins so you better use paper ones as well. We can add a different and festive touch by folding them as a Christmas tree, aren’t they cute? We can also roll them with lace and add a natural and colourful detail.
When we go to our grandma’s we all now our place at the table, of course. But if it is the first family meeting at your own home it would be very nice of you to indicate each one place. We can add a label to the lace in the napkin or use another element as a pine cone or a plastic figure sprayed gold.
We will also need some decoration as centre piece. A touch of illumination will be perfect to soften the general light and creating a more intimate atmosphere. We can buy a light garland that we will use later for our home decoration, we can use some Christmas lights or we can use candles.
If we are going to use candles…do we have to buy candle holders for every single candle? No way! We will use coffee glasses, water glasses, wineglasses… or if we’re afraid of running out of glasses we will use mason jars we should have kept the days before. We put the candle in the jar, fill it a little with salt, some little flowers as lavender or similar and we have the most beautiful candle holders ever!
